DUCARES is a young and ambitious TNO company (http://www.tno-bedrijven.nl/tno-b/home.do), formed January 1st, 2008 by the privatisation of two experienced groups of TNO Quality of Life, namely Hormones & Veterinary Drugs and Proficiency Testing. The company counts about 20 well educated professional staff members.

The combined experience of DUCARES comprises the conduct of analytical chemical research, the organisation of proficiency tests and consultancy. Originally DUCARES operates in the complete food safety chain; setting up the required controls, conduct of chemical analyses, until the interpretation of results in close relation with (legal) advice to the customer. DUCARES hereby clearly distinguishes itself from laboratories whose activities are limited to simple chemical analyses of samples.

DUCARES services go beyond the organisation of proficiency tests and analytical support related to the area of food safety.

The complete spectrum of services comprise of:

  • Qualitative research for the identification of substances to obtain legal evidence in case of damage control or emerging issues, or for the elucidation of chemical- or biological processes
  • Quantitative research in support of the registration chemical substances and veterinary and human drugs
  • Analytical tools for characterization, confirmation and quantification of protein drugs
  • Consultancy with respect to research results in relation to a specific problem/inquiry
  • Consultancy related to setting up and extending self monitoring systems
  • Organisation of proficiency tests in relation to the Dutch Labcode accreditation (GMP related)
