Proficiency testing

Being able to guarantee the quality of raw materials and end products in the animal feed sector is of great importance. Analytical research conducted for the GMP regulation in the Netherlands, set up by the Dutch Product Board Animal Feed (PDV) has to be reliable, since on the basis of these results conclusions are drawn about the composition and quality of the product. Since 1988 the so-called Kwaliteitsdienst Landbouwkundige Laboratoria (KDLL; a PDV service) supports laboratories by offering tailor-made proficiency tests and consultancy. Since then, harmonisation of laboratory results has improved demonstrably and reliable data have been reported. Whenever required, laboratories can participate in studies to evaluate new analytical methods.

All activities that are part of producing proficiency testing materials, the organisation of proficiency tests and the statistical data evaluation have been conducted for over 10 years by employees now working for DUCARES. The organisation of the most important proficiency tests is ILAC G13 accreditated.
